![]() The stock game comes with a variety of Submarines to command if you choose a U.S Career or a Type 9 U-boat if you choose a U-Boat career. Standard Silent Hunter 4 Features Historically Inspired Player Vessels For some of the most common bugs & issues and their potential fixes see SH4 Bug Fixes. ![]() Known Bugs, Issues,(and possible fixes) Īs released in 2007 the game contained a number of bugs.(some of which have not been corrected as late as May 2020) However, there is an active community of gamers and fans at SUBSIM.COM that continue to release mods to the game and fix what can be fixed without access to the game internals. In this version the default casts the player as the captain of a German Type IX U-boat but "switching sides" to still play as a U.S. While the base Silent Hunter 4 game cast the player in the role of a U.S Sub captain, the Wolves of the Pacific DLC was both an expansion and a patch which brings the player up to Version 1.5. SH4 was very buggy upon release and was patched several times. The original release of Silent Hunter 4 was based on the wildly successful Silent Hunter 3 and large portions of the older game were just ported over to the new game while swapping sides and updating the graphics. Silent Hunter 4: Wolves of the Pacific is a submarine simulation set in the World War Two era developed by Ubisoft and was released in 2007. Sub Commander shortly after December 7th, 1941, "The day that will live in Infamy." There are also mods available that allow the player to: start a U.S based campaign prior to December 7th,or even play as the commander of a surface ship. Silent Hunter IV takes players behind the periscope of a German Type IX U-boat to take on the Allied Forces in battles in the Pacific Or the player can optionally switch sides and play as a U.S. 8.2 Other Guides & In-game Tricks & Tips.7.1.6 Rockin Robbins O'Kane Sonar Only Manual Targeting.7.1.5 Rockin Robbins John P Cromwell 45° Tutorial.7.1.4 Rockin Robbins Airplane Avoidance.5.1 The Fall of the Rising Sun Ultimate Mod.3.2 Historically Inspired IJN, USN, Axis, Allied & Merchant Vessels.3.1 Historically Inspired Player Vessels.2.2 Known Bugs, Issues,(and possible fixes).Whichever way you go, Silent Hunter: Wolves of the Pacific is excellent stuff, and other than a few things from SH5 (ie: python scripts, graphics), is a much better game - my opinion again, of course. Notice that it is a WIP (Work In Progress), and most likely will never be completed by Ducimus, but if Bleiente continues on with his edits (and he is a diligent type), it should be pretty cool also. If you go to the last few pages of that, Bleiente is also working on his "interpretation" of the mod. Not to be neglected is Ducimus' (of TMO fame) Nine Delta Two mod. There are several add-on mods for it also. If you are looking for UBoat action, in my opinion, you have to do Operation Monsun from Lurker_hlb3 (of RSRDC fame), in spite of some "upgrade" issues. Bubblehead1980 was also working on his version, but we haven't seen his just yet. But, there is also a version of TMO / RSRDC that Bleiente did, called Ralles RealModPack., in which he includes some nice changes from TMO with RSRDC. Some aspects of the mod are too tough, other aspects are too easy, so we are working on a base "balance" at this time, which is the one part of TMO that is "set" - but that is also because it is not being tweaked on by its author. It is based upon TMO v1.7, originally from the AOTD_MadMax team, and it has all of the ships planes and shore installations of Max's mods, but also quite a few assets of several other mods as well. It is in "production" (a fancy word for "tinkering"), and we are about set to unleash the next version upon the SubSim community, hopefully within the next couple of weeks. Being biased as I am, I'd vote for Fall of the Rising Sun Ultimate as the best overall.
